There are more than 11 different tours and cruises to choose from that focus on the island”��s history as well as its ecology. Last year alone there were more than 125,000 visitors and the museum is located right on Jarvis Creek. This is near the salt marsh that is home to the shellfish grounds. The outdoor exhibits focus on the flora and fauna native to the area. You can find life sized saxon vats that were used during the 1700s to make indigo dye and there is even a nature trail to the salt marsh.
The museum hours are from 9 am until 4:30 pm Monday through Saturday and from 11 am until 3 pm on Sunday. These hours apply all year and with the mild climate in Hilton Head you will enjoy visiting at any time of year.
